eBay item #300046019228
(Nov '06)
Present bid (the 12th) 5,200 GBP. Reserve not met.
Seller's description reads:
Jaguar XK 150 SE project, included with this car is also a mechanically sound Jaguar XJS 3.6 manual car as a donour car. I have collected a majority of the parts together to build a proper Jaguar XK 150 "S spec" car, which would make a fantastic road or long distance endurance competition car. This is a complete restoration / rebuild project so please do not expect to find a roadworthy vehicle,
Good Points
The 150 is a genuine right hand drive car ordered from Jaguar in 1958 by their Rome (Italy) dealer as a special order car in metalic silver with blue leather trim, I purchased the car from UK dealer who had imported the car from the USA hence the car has spent its life in "hot dry climates" so is very sound, and apart from the gearbox which was missing it seems mainly complete. I purchased the XJS mainly for the gearbox as the 5 speed XJS unit should improve the 150 to drive and be more flexible than the origional Moss item. The car has a 3800cc XK motor which is in an unknown condition as Ive not stripped it and Ive sourced a complete 3.8 "E type" cylender head, manifolds and carbs to suit. The car also has a spare pair of doors which are not quite as sound as the origional ones but are undamaged and is fitted with a "louvered bonnet" and a period motalita steering wheel, as well as "centre laced" chrome wire wheels . I have all the taxes paid paperwork and a Jaguar heretige certificate for the car, the XJS is currently on a SORN document.
Bad points
The 150 has been without its motive power for a long time hence has been moved by being pushed so despite its sound bodywork it has recived a number of dents, the doors both require new door skins and the drivers side rear wing is beyond repair, the passenger side rear wing is also damaged but should repair easily, the front wings have minor dents which again are easily rectified, I have removed the doors and stripped them prior to reskinning them, the drivers front wing has been replaced and not refitted well, the chassis and under body are fine sound and straight, the bonnet closing pannel is the only area of rot on the car and this is a very small pannel to replace. The bridge pannel between the front wings has been cut to remove the engine but again these are available and are not expensive. The interior is grey and has been replaced at some point in the cars life, it seems pretty complete and reusable but will need a retrim if you want a quality restoration. The chrome work is good and complete apart from some of the window rubber chrome finishers are inside the car and damaged, the roof section bonnet and boot areas are all good and straight. The only part I have not located yet is a raidiator which are available from most XK specialists.

1958 Jaguar XK150 For Sale

Manual, 4 speed
3400cc
Red
Dealer, United Kingdom
Asking price £55,000
Date of first registration: 13/ 03/ 1958
Registration: 450 YUK
Chassis Number: S 824208 DN
Transmission: Manual with Overdrive
This particular car was manufactured in February 1956. The Heritage Certificate states that it is was supplied to Rome, Italy as a RHD car, originally painted in a non-standard Silver Grey with blue interior and fitted with a 3. 4l engine. The car was then shipped to California at some stage before the car returned to the UK in 2003.
The car now presents well in an attractive colour combination of maroon with light grey leather interior. The 3. 4l engine pulls with good oil pressure and the overdrive functions as it should. The bonnet has had louvres added, presumably to aid in cooling in its (former) warmer climates!
The current owner acquired the car in 2012 and has been cherished and garage stored with an indoor cover included in the sale. Invoicing on file covers expenditure on the car during it's time in the UK including a full re-trim in 2014 and a rolling road in 2015 showing 194bhp.
The car will come supplied with an MOT prior to sale.

Car was built February 1958, NOT 1956.
