This 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster was originally delivered to the US through Hornburg Jaguar of Los Angeles, California, and was acquired by the seller’s brother in 1983. The car was subsequently disassembled for a repaint in ivory, and retains a numbers-matching 3.4-liter inline-six and four-speed manual gearbox, though the cylinder head has been replaced. The engine starts and runs, and the sale includes spare and removed parts as detailed in a 59-page inventory catalog. This XK120 is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
Originally Battleship Grey, the body now wears a repaint in ivory and has been refitted with a grille, lights, fender beading, and bumper mounts. The windscreen and various pieces of exterior trim are shown in the parts catalog, which also notes that a folding top frame, side curtains, and bumpers will need to be sourced.
Red wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off nuts and wear mixed rubber. A matching spare wheel is housed in a compartment under the trunk.
The cockpit was stripped of trim, repainted along with the exterior, and fitted with plywood floor panels. Transmission and driveshaft tunnels are included in the sale as well as an unrestored dash with instruments. Seats, door cards, carpets, and pedals are no longer with the car.
The 3.4L twin-cam inline-six wears a replacement cylinder head and a block stamping matching that shown on the Heritage Certificate. Compression readings included chart from November 2020. The engine is mated to a numbers-matching four-speed manual gearbox.
Drivetrain and body numbers are listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate along with a production date and original colors. The 59-page parts inventory was compiled by D.L. George Historic Motorcars in Cochranville, Pennsylvania, and lists included components as well as items in need of sourcing.
