This 1960 Jaguar XK150 S Drophead Coupe was restored and fitted with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission in 2014. The car is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six and finished in black over red leather. Equipment includes a black soft top, 16″ wire wheels, disc brakes, fog lights, and adjustable seats. This XK150 S was purchased by the owner in 2015 and is now offered on their behalf with a top boot, tool kit, Thor knock-off hammer, Tecalemit grease gun, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, car cover, and clean Illinois title.
The car was repainted in black in 2014 and features a matching soft top, a one-piece windshield, fog lights, bright trim, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 16″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185-series Pirelli Cinturato tires. A full-size spare is stored under the trunk floor. The suspension and four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled in 2014.
The four-place cabin was reupholstered in red leather in 2014. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a defroster, wind-up side windows, and door storage pockets.
The wood-rim Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an embedded clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and an ammeter alongside gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
In S trim, the 3.4-liter inline-six was equipped with triple SU HD8 carburetors and made 250 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. A high-flow aluminum radiator and battery tender have been installed. Service in August 2022 included replacing the battery, right exhaust hanger, brake fluid reservoir, and clutch fluid reservoir, lubricating the chassis, changing the engine oil and differential gear oil, and flushing the coolant, brake fluid, and clutch hydraulic fluid.
The chassis stamping reads T838395DN and the reproduction chassis tag was made to match this number. The chassis number on the Heritage Trust certificate begins with an S and this is also the number the car is titled by.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists a dispatch date of October 1, 1959 to Jaguar Cars of New York, along with serial numbers and colors.
