The example offered here, chassis S 837996, was originally completed on December 29, 1958. According to available records, the car was delivered new to its first owner in Mill Valley, California, where it began life in an elegant specification of cream over a red interior with a black canvas top.

In 2007 the Jaguar was acquired from Hyman Ltd. by a subsequent owner who embarked on a comprehensive restoration with the goal of returning the car to like-new cosmetic and mechanical condition while subtly improving drivability.
