The registration number UPL 1 was transferred at some point and the car later carried the number 140 DPF. It was in Italy (Milan) from 1967 to 2000 carrying the number MI 8U2654. On return from Italy the car was re-registered as NSL 745 but in 2002 it was re-issued with its earlier 140 DPF number, which it currently carries.

Also note that although the current condition of the car is shown above as "Excellent original" the Originality box has not been checked. This is because while the car has never had a ground-up rebuild to concours standard and in most important respects is original (eg it still has drum brakes - albeit renewed - and disc wheels, as well as the original engine and gearbox) it has nevertheless undergone considerable refurbishment - eg new (green) hood, new wiring, new trim etc, and has been repainted twice over the years: first in cream and later returned to BRG.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
