Listed in the Bonhams Harrogate sale 16/11/11. Has been stored in a leaky garage since the 1970s. Looks original but ropey!

    Auction description:
    Lot No: 303
    1954 Jaguar XK120 Coupé
    Registration no. OLT 902
    Chassis no. S669122
    Engine no. F168585
    Estimate: £5,000 - 7,000, € 5,700 - 8,000
Offered for restoration, this 'barn find' XK120 was purchased from a Weymouth pet shop proprietor by the current owner in 1971 and used regularly for only two years before being laid up in a less than entirely weatherproof garage. There the XK remained for over 30 years until a passing vehicle collided with the garage and demolished it. Offered with old-style logbook, this challenging yet potentially most rewarding restoration project is sold strictly as viewed. No reserve.

Purely for the record. This car was raced in the North of England in the late 1950s by future Lotus driver Jimmy Blumer .

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
