The Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction
Friday, August 19, 2005 - Saturday, August 20, 2005
1959 Jaguar XK150S Roadster
ESTIMATE: $90,000 - $120,000
CHASSIS NO: T831505DN
The XK 150S presented here is a time capsule, almost completely original Jaguar. It was purchased from Jaguar Cars New York November 4, 1958 and remained with the original owner until acquired by the vendor in 1998. The XK is complete with the original Jaguar dossier with all the commensurate 1958 documentation including the original operating, maintenance and service handbook as well as Jaguar Heritage paperwork. The paint is excellent, finished in Sherwood green it nicely complements the all original interior finished in suede green leather and topped off with a sand color soft top.
With approximately 40,000 miles from new the XK 150S has been subjected to a full mechanical rebuild including engine, clutch, transmission, brakes, suspension, exhaust and much more. Receipts totalling more than $40,000 are available to document this work. A matching numbers vehicle, it even has the original working Motorola radio. At its latest showing at a Jaguar Clubs of North America event it received an official score of 96.22. With
limited numbers of XK 150S Jaguar roadsters built, this automobile offers Jaguar enthusiasts a special opportunity to acquire a very original example of one of the rarest and most desirable models produced in the original XK series. There are very few examples that could even possibly compare with this stunning XK and we encourage close examination accordingly.

1959 Jaguar XK150S 3.4-Liter Roadster
Chassis no. T831505DN
Engine no. VS1469-9
Surely the ultimate XK ‘time machine,’ this gorgeous, original XK150S has covered a mere 39,000 miles from new and has received 96+ JCNA Preservation Class points in several appearances. Matching numbered throughout and effectively unrestored, it nevertheless benefits from a $37,500 total engine and drive train rebuild recently completed, as well as new suspension and brakes. This XK has been driven only 2,000 miles in the past nine years and is extremely well documented. The accompanying comprehensive records document its history, while the archive report names the first owner and shows that the XK was custom ordered from Jaguar Cars in England. A desirable manual/overdrive transmission model finished in Sherwood Green with green (suede) hide upholstery, the car is currently being fitted with the factory-optional green leather fitted luggage. It also comes with the original spare parts box complete with all large and small tools and spares. To original factory specification and just plain glorious, this XK drives superbly and is in as near-perfect condition as a 48 years old Jaguar could possibly be. Offered with Certificate of Title.
