www.bonhams.com/auctions/20924/lot/606/

Auction description:
7 Feb 2013 16:30 CET Paris, The Grand Palais
Lot 606
1957 Jaguar XK150 3.4-Litre Coupe
Chassis no. S834942DN
Engine no. V2368-8

This left-hand drive, manual/overdrive example was supplied new in January 1958 to Jaguar Cars, New York and delivered finished in Carmen Red with biscuit leather interior, its present colour scheme. We are advised that the XK had only two owners prior to its acquisition by the current vendor on 1997.

Restored by Ben Kolvenbach of Beneden-Leeuwen in the Netherlands, the car was completed in 2009 and is described as in generally good condition. Accompanying documentation consists of sundry restoration invoices, Jaguar/Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, tax documents, technical inspection and Netherlands registration papers. The tool kit and owner's handbook are included in the sale.
Estimate:
€40,000 - 44,000
£33,000 - 36,000
US$ 52,000 - 58,000
Chassis no. S834942DN
Engine no. V2368-8

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
