Auction description:
The Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction
Friday, August 13, 2004 - Saturday, August 14, 2004
1957 Jaguar XK 140MC Drophead Coupe
ESTIMATE: $40,000 - $60,000
CHASSIS NO: S818981
This handsome car is a rare MC model, as shown by the S in front of the chassis number, which designates Special Equipment package that included the C-Type cylinder heads, dual exhaust, antennas and special badging.
The Jaguar shows to have been a presentable original car that benefited from a thorough restoration some time ago. The owner classifies this XK 140MC as being in very tidy overall condition and as a proficient driver that retains its correct matching numbers engine and heads. The Jaguar is complete with desirable equipment such as the spare, jack and complete tool kit. The leather interior is in good overall condition except for a few minor blemishes, mostly in the more obvious wear areas. The wood dash appears to display its original finish still intact while gauges appear correct and in good overall condition. Brightwork remains in very good condition throughout while the car is fitted with Garfield wide whitewall tires mounted on painted wire wheels.
This XK 140MC is a very well-presented car that shows nicely and is ready to drive and enjoy by its next spirited owner.
