Opening bid $45,000 get low monthly payments, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 8k miles.

    Sellers description:
Jaguar XK140 MC Drophead Coupe. We have not seen the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate for this vehicle but we understand it is a 1955 model. We have inspected and driven the car. The indicated mileage is not guaranteed in any way at all - remember, this is a collector car - we cannot confirm anything to do with the real mileage as opposed to the indicated mileage.

The car is part of a private collection of cars in Texas and the owner has asked us to sell it for him.

The chassis number is S 818264 BW.

The engine block is stamped G 2258-9S

The number stamped on the head and also on the chassis plate is G 6621-8S

Therefore the car does not have a matching block and head number but they are the correct type.

The body tag number is B 4619

    The transmission is automatic.

The paintwork and bodywork is very good and straight.

The current owner has retrimmed the car with dark red and black leather seats. There is a tan soft top. The wheels are polished 16in wires with whiteband tires. The chromework is generally very good. The woodwork door cappings and dash is generally good with some minor cracks visible.

The engine has correct dual SU carburetors. There is a custom exhaust to the headers. An aluminum radiator and header tank have been fitted. A manual choke switch has also been fitted, as has an electric fan.

The car is left hand drive.

We drove the car for a very short test drive and it fired up from cold first time. It has been on display in a private museum setting.

It is offered for sale as the current owner needs the space for another unrelated project. He has a full time mechanic who regularly starts the car and keeps all the fluids moving.

The car is located in Marshall, TX, zip code 75670.

    Lot #202674

This 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC Drophead Coupe was refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 2019. Powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in red with a tan soft top over black leather upholstery. Modifications include an aluminum radiator with an aluminum expansion tank and an auxiliary electric cooling fan as well as an alternator, a high-torque starter, Wilwood front disc brakes, stainless-steel brake lines, and Dynamat insulation. The car is also equipped with dual SU carburetors, 16″ wire wheels, whitewall tires, driving lights, wood interior trim, and an RCA AM radio. The engine was rebuilt under current ownership. This XK140 is now offered in Massachusetts on dealer consignment with a duplicate Wyoming title.

The car has been repainted in red and features a replacement tan soft top, a black top boot, a split windshield, front vent windows, Lucas driving lights, dual side mirrors, bright trim, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. Paint-meter readings are viewable in the photo gallery below. The seller notes that the fit of the convertible top to the windshield frame and the door windows is tight.

Chrome-finished 16″ wire wheels are mounted with 6.00–16 Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires. Wilwood front disc brakes have been adapted, with drums retained at the rear and stainless-steel braided brake lines utilized.

The seller states that the leather seats have been re-dyed from red to black. Interior appointments include a wood dashboard, an RCA All-Transistor AM radio, lap belts, a cabin heater, wind-up side windows, door-panel storage pockets, and black carpeting. Dynamat sound-deadening material has been installed behind the carpeting on the firewall.

The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and an ammeter alongside gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the steering column does not lock in place, that the turn-signal switch needs to be manually held to keep it activated, that rattles are evident behind the dashboard, and that the trip odometer does not work.

The 3.4-liter inline-six featured dual SU carburetors from the factory for a rating of 210 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us that the engine has been rebuilt since 2019. An aluminum radiator has been installed along with an aluminum expansion tank and an auxiliary electric cooling fan. The generator has been eliminated in favor of an alternator, and a high-torque starter also has been installed.

The stamping on the cylinder head reads G6621–8S, which aligns with information shown on the identification plate. The stamping on the engine block is G2258–9S.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted BorgWarner three-speed automatic transmission.

The car’s chassis number is S818264BW, whereas the Wyoming title cites G662185 as the VIN; the engine number shown on the data plate G6621-8S.
