    Car comes to ebay 8/22/16
    www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-XK140-Fixed-Head-Coupe-/112104760056
Opening bid C $5,200, US $4,039.15, reserve not met, 2 bids 6 days left in auction buy it now price $27,186.57, seller scotstron0, car now said to be in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada.

    Sellers description:
1956 JAGUAR XK140 Fixed Head Coupe project. This XK 140 was bought by an elderly man at an auction. The restoration had been started some time ago, but never got further than the way you see it now. I purchased the car as you see it, but my plans have changed. The car was dis-assembled and the majority of the mechanical restoration has been started, but not completed. The sheet metal is rusted through in many ares, but it is reparable by a good body-man. . The glass is all good except the passengers door glass, it was replaced by a previous owner with after market glass and missing the regulator. The exterior chrome appears to all be there and looks to be in good condition. The interior had an update done years ago with the proper color interior hides, door panels and wood trim etc. It shows signs of wear but would be fine for a daily use car. The electrical will need to be sorted, but most of the components, like the heater motor, wiper assembly etc appears to be there. The wiring harness will likely require replacing, but is included. The engine is not original. It has been updated to a 4.2 that is not running currently, but did run when removed. The carburetors are just bolted to the intake and will need rebuilding and matched to the proper dated intake manifold. The transmission looks to be an original xk140 4 speed, but I can't verify that it is the original. The rear end looks to be in good shape and it also appears to be the original unit. The chassis has been painted and partially assembled to make it roll and steer to ease transportation. Please note; the engine and transmission were cleaned to help potential buyers clearly see what is included in this auction, not to represent a rebuild. The original exterior and interior colors from the factory were British Racing Green with a suede green interior. PLEASE NOTE! This is NOT a business. This car is in southern Alberta Canada. We do not use a Title, we use a Bill of Sale only. This car is located in Southern Alberta, Canada.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
