Car offered at:
e-typeandsportscars.com/jaguar-xk-140-se-1955/
Sellers description:
Jaguar
Type : XK 140 SE
Year built : 1955
Colour exterior : Pastel green
Colour interior : Tan
Price : € 69.500
The XK 140 was launched in 1954 on the Earls Court Motorshow in London. The car featured a considerable number of changes in relation to the iconic XK 120.The XK 140 provided more legroom, improved rack and pinion steering system , gearbox with overdrive etc.
This particular XK 140 SE FHC is a very special version. It was delivered as number 366 at the 20th of June 1955 by Hornburg, Los Angeles.
Being a SE model the car came with a C-Head, dual exhaust, fog lamps. The C-head cylinder head provides 210 BHP while the normal engine gives 190 BHP. This highly-tuned C Type head was painted red, had a cast letter C in the centre of the plug valley and had "Jaguar Type C" badges on the cam covers. The engine number starts with a prefix 'G'and a suffix 'S 'indicated that a C-head was fitted.
This car was a top model in the range of XK 140 possibilities. Only 1289 LHD FHC SE XK 140 were delivered (for a price of GBP 1870 (incl tax)
This full matching SE version with an exiting exterior shows her age with lots of patina. Being recently serviced on engine and transmission, split brake system installed, full brake revision, new bushes, coming with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate and a Dutch registration she is ready for the coming season and a new owner.
This car is an exiting time warp in good driver condition. The new owner can make his own choice about a paint job, things done in the interior (seats are already done) or drive it as is.
This is a very unique XK 140 FHC and very rare in this condition. This is not the rusty restoration project (as we have seen so often), what is in need of a full rebuild of a car. This is a unique survivor that can be driven as is or being upgraded to any level.
