Current bid $1,955 reserve not met, 1 bid 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $29,999.99

Sellers description:
Exceptionally good Jaguar XK 140 MC fixed head coupe. The "MC" options package on the XK140 included uprated engine to 210 bhp with the C-type competition cylinder head fitted, wire spoke wheels, dual exhaust system, twin fog lamps, and pancake air filters. This vehicle was purchased from it's third California owner a few years ago, where some work was being carried out to make it roadworthy. This is a California car from new, with a matching pair of blue/yellow license plates, and a clear California title that dates back to 1973! This vehicle has been garaged all of it's life, and is exceptionally straight and completely rust-free, as seen in the pictures. It is totally complete, except for carpet and some interior panels.

BODY: Exceptional, straight, clean, rust-free, accident-free body. Extremely nice and well-preserved California car. Well taken-care-of and stored indoors all of it's life. Excellent panel fit and gaps on both doors, hood, trunk lid, that looks original and is factory correct. Excellent rocker panels, A-posts, B-posts, shut panels, bottoms of front and rear fenders, spare tire wheel well, etc. Excellent grille fit. Please Note: The blue paint currently on this car has been it's only paint job over the factory original red paint. No evidence of filler (bondo), or corrosion. Possibly one of the nicest XK140 FHC bodies you may find...

MECHANICALS: This car is now fitted with engine # G3386-8S, approximately 400 units away from the original one on the data plate (G2965-8S). This engine was rebuilt and installed in the late 1960's, and is still a correct "MC" unit with a 'C'-type cylinder head with matching #'s head and block. It has been running in the past 3-4 years according to the previous owner, who "exercised" it to keep it in good condition. The oil is very clean and nice. The engine appears very clean with older paint on it. The car will most likely need a recommissioning on the fuel/brake systems before it is roadworthy. The gearbox on this car is a desirable and rare 4-speed manual with overdrive, which was presumably fitted with the engine at that time. The gearstick lever is not original, being too long for the car. There are (5) correct original wire spoke knock-off wheels that have been powder-coated silver and fitted with newer 16 inch radial tires and tubes. There is some minor work required to re-attach the foot pedals and front anti-sway bar, but all parts are present and included.

CHASSIS: Excellent, solid, straight frame with nice suspension, springs, etc. Extremely nice undercarriage with no issues. Older exhaust system fitted. Front suspension has been cleaned with new lower bushings (photo).

TRIM: Interior trim was removed for re-do back in the 1970's and was never completed. There are some interior panels saved, but carpets were discarded. Car comes with some miscellaneous spare parts for completion (photo). Original steering wheel is missing the horn button. Car is fitted with the original sun visors. All original instruments and switches are in good condition. Solid original interior wood could use re-veneering. All chrome is complete and original and in decent condition. All original glass is in good shape except driver's side front quarter window is cracked. The original red paint is evident everywhere in the interior and trunk (photos). Included in the spare parts are the original Lucas twin spot lamps and air cleaners, along with everything else that came with the car. New, upgraded Marine plywood floor bases have been made and fitted.

Overall this is an exceptional Jaguar XK140 MC FHC that has been well-preserved in California all of it's life. The body on this car represents thousands in dollars/expenses SAVED on rust repair and bodywork over other available cars. It is a lovely car for straightforward, easy restoration, and has the added bonusof the "MC" specification with an overdrive gearbox fitted. Few cars exist in this condition, now being over 55 years old.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
