Ebay item 7/28/12 www.youtube.com/watch
First impressions, The first things you'll notice are the brightness of the paint, the wonderful finish on the chrome and perfect condition of the interior. Then once you get past the looks, you start her up and shift into first. The shifting is precise, as a an XK should be. The motor obtains a proper idle speed quickly, then you're ready to drive. This car has excellent shifting, acceleration and brakes. There is no problem with engine temperature and no strange or problematic noises.
Exterior, The car is EXCEPTIONAL all the way around. The body lines and panel-fit are all very straight. The paint, glass, metalwork, rubber and top are all EXCEPTIONAL. This car is finished to a very high quality. The only blemishes that I could find upon thorough inspection of the car are several very small marks that were made in the paint, where the top must have rested on the body of the car for the years that the car was stored indoors. They look like a couple of small fingerprints, one on each side of the car and a very small line on the top of the boot area. I believe that these can be removed with a wet-sander, but didn't want to disturb the integrity of how the car was found.
Interior, Also EXCEPTIONAL. The interior was refitted at the time of restoration and shows very little to no wear. The seats, carpet, dash and area behind the seats are all very very nice. The only blemish that I've found in the interior is a hairline crack on one of the spokes of the steering wheel.
Mechanics, EXCELLENT. This car was also mechanically restored to a very high standard, but then parked in a collection for a long time. It hadn't been driven much since restoration. I brought the car straight from it's storage location to my very well-qualified English mechanic, who gently eased it back to life. After it was started, he tested and tested until he discovered and repaired all faults, to make it a really PERFECT showcar and ready to be driven anywhere. Work included new front and rear brake cylinders, new master cylinder, new head gasket, rebuilt original radiator, new hoses, new gaskets, resurfaced head and much more. I have receipts for everything.
This car has a clean and clear title, which we have in-house.
THIS CAR WILL BE DELIVERED WITH A JAGUAR HERITAGE TRUST CERTIFICATE, WHICH VERIFIES ALL NUMBERS!

Car to return to auction 3/13

Auction description:
Guide $125,000 - $150,000
SOLD $137,500
Lot 03
According to its accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this striking XK140 MC Roadster from 1955 is an original left-hand-drive, US-delivery example factory equipped with the top-of-the-line "MC" package. A comprehensive performance and appearance combination, and a phenomenal value, the MC option comprised the "M" or "Special Equipment" package, including a crankshaft damper, dual exhaust pipes, enlarged SU H8 carburetors, twin fog lamps, and wire-spoke wheels. The "C" designation indicated the addition of a high-compression, Le Mans-proven C-Type cylinder head raising engine output to a heady 210 bhp.
Assembly of this XK140 MC was completed on February 28, 1955, and on March 30, 1955, it was shipped stateside to Charles Hornburg's Los Angeles-based Jaguar distributorship. While intervening history remains unknown at the time of cataloguing, the Jaguar received a concours-quality restoration during the early to mid-1980s, and it then joined a private collection where it was sparingly used and carefully stored.
As offered, the Jaguar remains impressive in every respect with a straight body, proper panel alignment, lustrous paint and brightwork, and a handsome cockpit trimmed in biscuit Connolly hides. Recently, the consignor entrusted it to a Jaguar specialist, who expertly attended to mechanical systems to ensure a brisk driving experience. As confirmed by receipts accompanying the car, work included new front and rear brake cylinders, a new master cylinder, a rebuild of the original radiator, and resurfacing of the cylinder head, plus new gaskets, hoses, and more.
Impressive throughout, this matching- numbers XK140 MC Roadster is ready to show and enjoy with equal amounts of pleasure, effectively "ticking all the boxes" for an astute classic Jaguar purchase. Accompanied by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate and receipts for the mechanical work performed under the current owner, it will never fail to draw admiration wherever it goes.

Seller's description:
VIN S811059
-Signal Red over Biscuit leather interior, Biscuit Carpeting and Tan soft top, 3.4 Liter DOHC Inline 6-Cylinder engine with Twin SU Carburetors producing 210 HP at 5,000 RPM, Uprated 5-speed manual gearbox. Following up from the very successful XK-120, they made various refinements to create the new XK140. The same beautiful lines were retained with subtle refinements to the bumpers and body trim. The engine was moved forward by three inches to address complaints of cramped accommodations and the standard engine was now the 190 horsepower version of the 3.4 liter inline six, with the return of the MC option of another 20 HP to enhance to 210 horsepower output. Straight line performance was about the same as the XK120, but the road holding had been vastly improved thanks to the addition of rack and pinion steering, telescopic dampers as well as larger brakes and advance suspension geometry. These improvements made the XK 140 more comfortable, predictable and enjoyable to drive. As with the XK120 before, the OTS roadster (open two-seater) remained the most desirable with collectors and enthusiasts, thanks to its clean, uncluttered look and raw, exciting performance. This beautiful XK140 OTS is a highly desirable MC model, equipped from new with dual exhausts, wire wheels and the free-breathing C-Type cylinder head. Further enhancements include front disc brake conversion, 2 SU carbs, oil cooler, 5-Speed gearbox, lap belts and a Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel. This XK-140-MC is offered with jack, air pump, spare wheel/tire, tool kit, owners handbook, Jaguar heritage trust certificate, history/receipts and full top with matching side curtains. A stunning color combination in excellent condition throughout and mechanically serviced and sorted, this XK140 MC is a wonderful candidate for many of the worlds prestigious vintage rallies, at home on the concours lawn or used simply for weekend, seasonal touring pleasure.
