Ebay item 7/8/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-140-OTS-MC-SE-1955-/190866537200
Car has a buy it now price of $105,000 for 18 days. 56k miles.
Sellers description:
I have owned the car since 1971 in Southern California. Original black California license plates, professionally restored.
When I purchased the car in 1971 the engine block was broken and non-repairable. The local Jaguar dealer gave me a complete 3.8 E-type engine block removed from a series I E-type (RA522O), 9:1 compression ratio. I fitted the original C head G5879-8. This higher compression combination ran superbly. In 2012 the C head was completely rebuilt by Coventry Classics of Orlando with all new valves, cams and bearings. The 3.8L E block was removed from a wrecked local car with a very low mileage and stored for years until given to me. Since 1971 the car has had probably less than 500 actual miles on the road, as I lived abroad and in other states and the car was garaged in Southern California until I began restoration in earnest in 2008.
The car has been beautifully, professionally painted and finished with three coats of clear in 2011/2012. The Connelly Hide black leather interior was fitted in 1983 and is in excellent condition. Virtually everything mechanical has been renewed including fuel system, complete brake system, new master cylinder, new shoes and rebuilt wheel cylinders, all instruments rebuilt, all new chrome (bumpers, grille, headlight rims, tail-light and reverse-light fittings, windshield pillars etc.) A new black Hartz soft top with correct new rear window has been fitted. All instruments rebuilt (tach, spedo, clock, petrol and amp guages), wiper motor rebuilt. New correct 17" steering wheel. Mileage stated is approximate as I had to rebuild the spedometer.
Upgrades include: Pertronics distributor, spark plug wiring, Gustafson geared starter. Complete Bell ss exhaust system, complete, with dual mufflers. New black porcelain exhaust manifold/headers. 3.8L, 9:1 compression ratio series 1 E block. New Wilton black carpeting. Five new Universal 185R16 radial black wall tires. Four new 2 ear knockoffs. All new shock absorbers. All new suspension kit, including bushings, A-arm. All new BAS door panels and boot lid. New chrome handbrake assembly. LED tail lights fitted. New fuel SU fuel pump. New original parking lights. New Fog Ranger lights. New tail light chrome assemblies, chrome fittings. New reverse/license light fittings. SU carbs rebuilt. New motor mounts.
Original 16" steel wheels painted as correct in body colour.
