Auction description:
Sale 15398 - An Important Sale of Collectors' Motorcars and Automobilia, 17 Aug 2007
Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club, Carmel, California
Lot 467
One owner, 24,700 miles from new
1954 Jaguar XK120SE Roadster
Chassis no. S674682
Engine no. F1683-8S
This wonderfully preserved one-owner Jaguar XK120 Special Equipment model has covered 24,700 genuine miles only and retains all books and records from new. The car was serviced by its original owner, a United Airlines maintenance mechanic, who placed it up on blocks in the late 1980s, correctly preserving the engine, because he could not find time to drive it very often. The car has recently been purchased from his widow and drives as new. It comes with two historic Jaguar Archive reports and a substantial quantity of original paperwork. Repainted in its original blue livery in early 1963, this has to be the most original, unrestored XK120SE available anywhere today. Offered with Certificate of Title, this is the XK120 you have been waiting for.
