Car offered at:
www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C749862
Seller description:
David Golding Cars, Dublin Ireland
Sold new in Los Angeles, this car was imported into Ireland in 1990. After forming part of a well known local private collection it was sold to the current custodian in 2009 who set about refreshing it and returning it to the road.
Starting with a rock solid base he commissioned a repaint and retrim as well as spending thousands on parts from Guy Broad. The front brakes have been upgraded to Coopercraft discs, electronic ignition is installed along with a stainless steel exhaust and new exhaust manifolds. A Kenlowe fan has been added. New Veredestein tyres have been fitted to the powder coated wire wheels.
Currently in full driving condition the car is ready for a new owner to take on and improve a few areas if desired. In our opinion the chassis whilst totally solid and original could do with a make over whilst the rewire did not avail of an original replacement loom. The chrome whilst all replaced some years ago with new parts is starting to tarnish in some areas. The original parts removed from the car will accompany it and it may be best to get them rechromed and refitted. Some of the instrumentation appear to be non operational. Please note that a the engine is a 3.4 unit from an XK150
The hood and hood frame are present though the side screens are missing.
In the history file is a handbook and parts book, a Heritage Certificate and invoices showing a parts spend of c£20k with Guy Broad. A copy of the US title and import document is also present.
