This CA black plate, matching numbers XK-120 is a very original car that has been well preserved. It can be purchased "as is" for you to restore as you wish, or you can purchase it, and have Classic Showcase restore it to a Show Driver or Show level. It was originally British Racing Green, and it can be taken back to its original color combination during the restoration, if you like. It is very hard to find good original, unmolested cars coming with the original hoses, clamps, and panels still in place. The interior is also original, which is unusual to find on a car of this age. Purchase includes a Heritage Certificate Included in the restoration process the vehicle will be stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, all body parts fitted to the car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. The car will not be painted for a while, so we can paint it the color of your choice. All systems will be gone through and the engine will be rebuilt back to factory specifications. The fuel, electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems will be restored. All components will be rebuilt back to factory specifications, including the engine, transmission, rear end and suspension. All chrome will be re-plated as needed. The car will receive a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by our upholstery department. A DVD of the restoration process will accompany the vehicle. Upon completion of the restoration this Jaguar will be a great example to drive, enjoy and compete in shows.

Sellers description:
This California black plate, matching numbers XK-120 is a very good candidate for a comprehensive restoration. Since 1969, this Coupe has been off the road and kept in dry storage. The Jaguar was originally British Racing Green, and many years ago the owner changed the color to the Red that you see today; He also wanted to create a unique look with the exaust system's ends, by having them protrude out of the rear fenders on each side of the car - an often common enhancement during that era. In addition, the owner removed the dash drawer to accomodate a radio from the same era. Please note that outside of these enhancements the car remains in a very original state.
EXTERIOR: the Jaguar's exterior is very solid and straight, and would be easy to remove the paint and prepare for a new finish. The Britework is also original to the car and fits well.
INTERIOR: the interior on this example remains original, and shows patina throughout. The driver's seat as well as the driver's carpets are showing wear - but the remainder of the interior should clean up nicely, or may be replaced, the choice is yours.
MECHANICALS: Under the bonnet, the car has remained untouched, and even retains it's original brackets, clamps, panels, otter switch and more.
BODY: The Coupe's body is solid & straight, and will be easy to remove the paint and prepare for a new finish.
UNDERCARRIAGE: Underneath, the Coupe's undercarriage is just like the engine bay - untouched, very solid, and a great candidate for restoration.

*Lovely "Barn Find" condition XK120
*Numbers-matching example delivered new in British Racing Green
A great base for a concours restoration
*Timeless styling and elegance
This XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe was completed on November 3rd, 1952, sporting British Racing Green paintwork over a tan leather interior and was destined for the US market, originally sold through Hornburg Jaguar in Los Angeles, California. Early in its life, a Motorola AM Radio was installed, and the exhaust system was customized, abandoning the single exhaust for a twin exhaust that intriguingly exits through the rear fenders. Additionally, the British Racing Green paintwork was replaced with the red hue it wears today. Later, the car sat undisturbed and forgotten for years in a storage contained before being rediscovered just recently. Today, this "barn find" Jaguar represents a wonderful base for a comprehensive restoration. The original tan interior remains, along with the original engine and many mechanical components. Importantly, this numbers-matching Coupe is largely complete, making this an excellent candidate for restoration. One can imagine this XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe being fully restored back to its original British Racing Green livery, and once again used as intended for high-speed, spirited drives and to be proudly displayed at car shows. Its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate is included in the sale.
Please note, this vehicle is titled under the model year 1953.
