*Offered from the Thomas Hendricks 'Lost Jaguars' Collection

*In the present ownership for more than 50 years

*Original USA delivered left hand drive car

Dispatched by Hoffman of New York exactly one week later than XK120 roadster project, its original owner is not recorded, but from its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate we do know that the car was originally finished in one of the rarer and most desirable schemes for these cars of Twilight Blue, with a corresponding blue interior. A stock example, it was fitted with disc wheels and rear spats – the purest form of the design.

20 years later in August 1971, the car was resident in Toms River, New Jersey and titled to Harry Leach, who sold it, together with the 'mortal remains' of Alloy Roadster 670102 to Thomas Hendricks in September 1971. Both are described on the bill of sale as 'junk'!

It is understood that its condition is largely unchanged over the course of Mr. Hendricks 51-year tenure. By the time it arrived with him, the car had received a repaint in a lighter shade of blue, but to judge from its condition today that was all that was changed, the interior seemingly being the original.

Unquestionably in need of a comprehensive restoration, coupes such of this have often provided the basis for concours refurbishment or indeed for competition use.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
