1950 Jaguar XK120 Alloy Roadster Roadster
VIN: JH1880
Chassis No. 670170, Engine 3442cc dual overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder, dual SU carburetors, 160hp @ 5,400rpm, 4-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with torsion bars and telescopic shock absorbers, live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and lever shock absorbers, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
Only 242 alloy-bodied XK120s were built. Just 184 of them were constructed with left-hand drive for export to the U.S. This example is one of the last built, constructed in March 1950. It is equipped with steel wheels and the rear wheel skirts (properly and charmingly called "spats" on a Jaguar) that were standard and correct on the alloy 120s. Finished in Silver, it has the correct style two-tone interior with Red and Beige leather and is fitted with "tri-bar" headlights and a wood rim aftermarket steering wheel.
Recent restoration work also includes complete new paint with bright work fully restored by Christensen Plating of Los Angeles. The engine has been recently rebuilt with hardened valve seats to run without damage on today's unleaded fuels. It also has a new gas tank, rebuilt carburetors, new fuel pump and a complete brake system overhaul which included rebuilding the master cylinder, new hoses and wheel cylinders. Please view the detailed receipt copies provided with the vehicle.
It comes with a Jaguar-Daimler historic certificate authenticating its origin.
The alloy-bodied XK120 OTS Super Sports is the most rare and avidly sought of all Jaguar roadsters and this one is ready to be used and enjoyed in the many events, shows and tours for which it will be a enthusiastically welcomed participant.
