There is a mention of this chassis number in Jaguar Driver magazine November 1971 by Tom Hendricks then U.S representative of the Jaguar Drivers Club. I quote his letter without further comment:-
"I have purchased one and a half XK 120s. The complete car is an early fixed-head coupe and the half is very interesting-Chassis No. 670102-an aluminium car which had been resting in a pile of rubble behind a barn not 20 miles from me. The fellow I purchased it from had bought if for spares for $25. He did not know what he had and cut it up, saving the body parts such as fenders, doors, etc, but throwing away the main body sections. The engine is F1134 and theserial number plate has been preserved. At this point I plan to use some of the parts in rebuilding my right-hand-drive roadster. The coupe will probably be sold"

The number F 1134 is the body no for this chassis. I have a note the eng is/was W 1194-8. Also licence plate HX

The leftover pieces including the chassis tag, front fenders, boot and bonnet were sold by Bonhams at their 2023 The Amelia Island Auction for US$11,760 inc. premium.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
