Car offered for sale at:
www.classicdriver.com

Sellers description:
Jaguar XK120
An original aluminium bodied XK120 roadster in left hand drive - one of 182 left hand drive cars made. Body off restoration by British Classic Cars of Glottertal in Germany. Fitted with uprated 3.8 engine with triple SU HD8 carbs, rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel disc brakes and 5 speed Gertrag gearbox. New set of painted wire wheels and bucket seats - ideal for tall people. Totally restored to the highest standard at a cost of the asking price. Just fitted with Vredstein tyres. Used purely on sunny days. The car has a tonneau cover. Previously sold by me. The best of the lot with desirable modern improvements to provide a more exciting and safer driving experience. Considerably less than the price expected by Christies at their forthcoming Paris sale for an original aluminium bodied XK120!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
