You don't sound very Russian Wayne!!

This car was reported in South Africa in July 2003 Then sold to a Russian who will restore it in Russia

it was "sold" to some russians - but they never paid any money for the car - nor for any of the restoration work done on the car - so they were issued with an attachment letter - and i have bought it - with registration papers and heritage certificate - the car never left South Africa and i have been a regular visitor since 2005 as i have bought a few cars from the owner of the garage where it has been sitting since then - with work done on it in when the garage owner had some spare cash - it is off to the panel shop next week hopefully

some progress on car - back from spray paint - birch grey per heritage certificate - starting with new wiring loom - fitting the chrome work - new petrol tank - engine fitted with carbs - dynamo - back bumpers etc

finally finished - after not being on the road for 15 years - really nice restoration - if not concours - drives really well - except for brakes - ordered the disk brake conversion kit after first drive - passenger door keeps flying open - this was a major restoration problem - but i did not get it right obviously

finished restoration at end of 2013 - car is beautiful but i dont drive it often enough - must fix passenger door as it opens then turning right - catch on door wooden frame needs to be built up - my mistake when restoring car and fitting new catches

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
