Highly desirable Brysons delivered XK150S 3.8

From the Estate of the Late Ian Cummins

An original Brysons delivery XK150 'S' optioned with the more powerful 3.8-litre engine, this stylish fixed-head coupe Jaguar was first owned by John E Glasson of "Erambie" in the central NSW town of Molong, who took delivery on June 13, 1961 and first registered the car on plates CKO-130. The original purchase receipt, NRMA insurance cover note and maintenance manual survive with the car, confirming the early provenance and the fact it was equipped with overdrive transmission and chrome wire wheels. Originally painted in the same colours it wears today, cream with red trim, the Jaguar passed through several hands, ending up in Sydney by the 1970s and eventually passed to Martin Wilson, who subsequently sold the car to long-time enthusiast and collector Ian Cummins. Documented in Terry McGrath and John Elmgreen's essential reference work "The Jaguar XK in Australia" published back in 1985, the Jaguar is in lovely condition, with older paint and a nice patina of age to the interior, along with features like a Webasto sunroof, louvered bonnet complete with leather straps. Ticking all the boxes, this lovely XK150 presents as a rare opportunity for the Australian Jaguar collector or enthusiast and will be sold unregistered and with a history file supplied.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
