Car was at auction 5/10/06
http://www.brightwells.com/3rdparty/orphanspress/classiccars/results_cars.php?sale=100506#
Auction description:
Body colour: BRG
Date Manufactured: 1960
Registration Number: 5826MH
Chassis Number: T825314DN
Engine Number: VS2205/9
History:
Originally supplied by Henly's of London to GR Wright & Sons Ltd, Enfield, on 21st July 1960, this car is the very desirable high performance "S" variant of the 3.4 litre XK150 with triple 2-inch SU carbs, straight-port heads and manual overdrive gearbox. Jaguar claimed the power output to be 250bhp, with a top speed of 132mph, the 0-60 dash coming up in 7.8 secs and the standing quarter mile in 16.2 secs. Hot stuff even today, and positively mind blowing 45 years ago!
The property of a deceased estate, this car was bought from Hampshire XK specialists Twyford Moors in September 2005 for ?28,750. The owner then spent in excess of ?6,000 further improving the car ? this included fitting Coopercraft 4-pot brake calipers, Spax adjustable shocks, polybushed front suspension, Kenlowe fan, aluminium header tank, and five replacement chrome wire wheels with new Vredestein tyres (followed by a four-wheel laser alignment). Several chrome trim parts were also renewed. The car has only covered 400 miles since these improvements were carried out and, as you would expect, it drives extremely well.
In the hands of a previous owner it successfully completed the Scottish Malts Reliability Trial in May 2003. At around the same time it was also fitted with a sump guard, new front seat belts and a new set of carpets. The Suede Green leather seats were also recovered in top quality hide. Another receipt shows that the Salisbury back axle was completely rebuilt in 1997.
With all matching numbers and still on its original registration plate, the car is MOT'd until Sept 2006 and has an agreed insurance valuation of ?34,000. All in all a fantastically exciting car that is ready to jump in and enjoy and is being offered for sale at a very realistic price.
Guide price 21,500

This XK150S was built on 21st July 1960 and sold via the distributor Henlys Limited and a dealer, Saul & Slater Ltd of London N13. It was registered to the first owner, G R Wright & Sons of Enfield, on 23rd August 1960.
Little else is known of the car's history until it was registered again in October 1981 (still with its original registration number) by a Thomas Sharp of London who, according to a copy of Form V62, acquired the car in September 1980. The XK changed hands again in 1998 and again in 2002 before being entrusted to Twyford Moors in 2005 to sell on behalf of Mr Allan Morris. It was bought by Mr Paul Dickinson, who agreed various upgrades with Twyford Moors including Coopercraft 4-pot front callipers; Polybushes for the front suspension; a Kenlowe electric fan; and replacement chrome wire wheels.
When Mr Dickinson died, the car's ownership transferred to his wife, who sold it via an auction house in 2006 to Clayton Heaters Limited of Coventry. A firm well known for their long history of manufacturing automotive heating and air conditioning systems, Clayton wanted a show car to demonstrate how air conditioning could be fitted to a classic. As well as fitting air conditioning, Clayton also had the car re-trimmed by Jaguar expert Mick Turley of MCT Jaguar Restorations Limited. Other upgrades included a five-speed T5 gearbox; negative earth electrics; a lightweight alternator; an upgraded oil pump; upgraded heater; Petronix electronic ignition; an electronic fuel pump; and Spax adjustable shock absorbers.
The current owner purchased the Jaguar in May 2010 and has used it on several European tours including trips to Spain, Portugal, France and Corsica. During his ownership the car has been fitted with retractable seat belts; new Coopercraft rear brake cylinders; new rear springs from BCC Ltd; and two new chrome wheels.
The private vendor advises us that the car drives and handles well and has good oil pressure. However, as with most XK150s, the clock does not work, the fuel gauge is inaccurate, and the speedometer tends to wobble a bit, standard stuff from a 1960s motor car! Having completed the restoration of an XK150 drophead coupé, the vendor finds that this car is not being used enough and he now wishes to dispose of it. Accompanying paperwork consists of a current MoT (expires August 2020), a V5C document and the aforementioned Heritage Certificate, while the original Moss gearbox overdrive is available if required.
