This right-hand drive example of the ultimate and most sought-after XK150 variant was restored in the early 1990s and comes with various Jaguar Drivers’ Club concours awards endorsing the quality of the work. Its now deceased owner, a committed Jaguar enthusiast, lavished attention on the car – his only ‘classic’ – using it sparingly on high days and for tours only. Finished in classic British Racing Green with matching leather interior, the vehicle remains cosmetically superb. Its mechanical condition was not known at time of cataloguing, but given the quality of its restoration the vehicle should only require only relatively gentle re-commissioning before further use. Offered with Swansea V5.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
