Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 liter Coupe in Black with Black leather interior and Webasto Sunroof. 4 Speed manual with overdrive. Owned for many years by an aging Jaguar Collector who spent close to $100k on this including having the engine totally rebuilt by XK's unlimited. Excellent body with mostly excellent paint, right side has some paint issues that shouldn't be a big deal to tidy up ($2k should easily cover it) Fantastic interior, high quality leather, nice wool carpets, excellent door panels and roof liner. Mechanically superb and a delight to drive. Engine only has a few hundred miles on it at most. Great power, good gearbox, clutch and brakes. Has handbook, lots of records, spare, jack, toolkit and Heritage Certificate. The 3.8 liter version was only available at the very end of production of the 150 and is rare, it is the best engine of the XK run - strong and reliable. You cannot find a matching numbers example good enough to restore, do the work and be in it for close to this price.

This 1960 Jaguar XK150 SE is a left-hand-drive, fixed-head coupe that is finished in black over black and was manufactured in November 1960, near the end of production for the model. It is equipped with a Webasto folding sunroof and was originally owned by a Lieutenant Colonel Regan in Illinois. After spending time in New York and the UK, the car returned to the US in 1974 and was acquired in 1984 by an owner who kept it for 30 years and had a restoration completed in the 1990s. Power is provided by a numbers-matching 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six, which is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. A cylinder head rebuild was carried out in 2018, and the car was acquired by the selling dealer just over a year ago. This XK150 is now offered with invoices and photos from the restoration, recent service records, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a tool kit, and a clean Missouri title.
The body was finished in black from the factory and was repainted during the 1990s body-off restoration. A black fabric Webasto sunroof was optioned from the factory and is shown in its open and closed positions in the gallery below, which also includes closeups of the paint finish, lenses, and chrome brightwork. The latter is said to exhibit hazing of the finish.
Black-painted 16″ wire wheels were added in 2018, at which time new Blockley tires were also mounted. Spax adjustable dampers have been added, and four-wheel disc brakes were factory equipment. Yellow Lucas driving lights are mounted up front.
The 2+2 cabin is trimmed in black leather, which is the original interior color listed on the Heritage Trust Certificate. The door panels, carpets, and dash padding are color matched, and a four-spoke black steering wheel is equipped. The heater blower motor does not function.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, and the five-digit odometer shows 57k miles. The seller dealer has adding approximately 100 miles, and true mileage unknown. The fuel gauge light is not illuminating.
The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six produced 220 horsepower when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission equipped with a Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. The engine, gearbox, and overdrive unit were shipped to XKs Unlimited and overhauled during the 1990s restoration. The cylinder head received an additional rebuild in 2018, with four new intake valves installed during the work. The carburetors were adjusted at that time, new gaskets were installed, and the front brake pads and flexible lines were replaced. Modifications include a stainless-steel fuel tank and a stainless-steel exhaust system.
Block stamping VA2264-8 can also be seen stamped on the cylinder head. The number matches that shown on the Heritage Trust Certificate.
The Heritage Trust Certificate lists the original colors, equipment, and serial numbers, as well as the dates of manufacture and dispatch. A photo album of images from the restoration is included in the sale and shown in the gallery below, and invoices from the work are also included.
