1959 Jaguar XK150 3.8-Litre Drophead Coupé

Registration no. not UK registered

Chassis no. S838422

Engine no. VA105619

• Delivered new to New York, USA

• Restored in New Zealand in 2004

• Converted from left- to right-hand drive

• Manual transmission

• Imported from New Zealand in 2016

• Only circa 14,000 miles since restoration

Representing the XK150 in its ultimate configuration, this 3.8-litre drophead coupé was manufactured in September 1959 and delivered to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA. Its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate reveals that the car left the factory equipped with automatic transmission and was finished in cream with red interior and black soft-top.

The XK was imported from New Zealand in 2016 having been completely restored to concours condition in Auckland in 2004 and changed from left- to right-hand drive. It has also been fitted with a manual gearbox. No bills are available but there is a photographic record of the rebuild present. On completion the car featured in a five-page article in a classic car magazine (copy on file). Our vendor purchased the XK in NZ in 2016 and brought it back to the Channel Islands. Since its acquisition the owner has fitted a new dynator, distributor cap, radio, speakers, aerial, and passenger-side door catch, as well as extra fan for the radiator to improve useability. Only some 14,000 miles have been covered since the restoration. The car comes complete with original tools, jack, spare wheel, handbook, workshop manuals (x2) and a 'touring kit' of useful spares. Accompanying paperwork includes a V5C registration document, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and the aforementioned magazine article and photographs.
