Ebay item 2/26/21

www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Jaguar-XK-150/164725389045

Opening bid $1,000 reserve not met 0 bids, 2 days left in auction, seller gateway-classic-cars, Alpharetta, Georgia, 29k miles.

Seller's description:

The XK150 was a slight evolution of the 140 and for many enthusiasts, it is a good blend of dramatic styling and comfort. For my money, the convertible might just be the prettiest of the three body styles, offering the awesome long nose, short deck that's just pure art in motion. The black paint complements it wonderfully, making this car look serious and mature, just the way a Jaguar should. Paint quality is good, befitting a car that will be more valuable next year than it is today, and there is no metallic in it, so it looks right on the vintage Sheetmetal. Panel fit on these cars was indifferent (they were hand-built, after all) but during the restoration they sorted all that out and it fits together quite nicely today. The chrome was also restored, and while the heavier bumpers were a little less graceful than the 120s, they are in great shape as are the waterfall grille, twin mirrors perched out there on the front "wings" and the beautiful spine of chrome running down the trunk lid. There is simply no angle from which this car does not look spectacular.

Jaguar interiors have long been the source of envy, with a wonderful blend of old-world craftsmanship and materials with sporting design. The XK150 convertible is no different, with handsome red leather buckets. A wood-rimmed steering wheel remains adjustable for reach and the gauges are arrayed in a lovely chunk of real burled walnut, not some veneer. Traditional Smiths gauges are big and easy to read, although the rest of the controls are somewhat random and as a Jaguar owner, you will expect it. There is more wood and leather on the doors, a few touches of chrome. The restoration of this interior was completed by skilled hands using all the top material, and it certainly shows. The coupe also offers a bit of space behind the seat for gear, as well as a nicely appointed trunk for touring.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-6 is legendary for its flexibility and howling performance, and while it's muted and polished here, you can still tell that there's a thoroughbred waiting to run that makes a rather substantial 210 horsepower. It barks to life and settles into a decent idle thanks to a pair of side-draft carburetors. The Manual transmission that was used in a myriad of cars in the US and it is a good match, with quick reflexes and proper gear spacing to let the six stay in the fat part of its power curve. The dual exhaust sounds spectacular and nobody can argue with the gorgeous chrome wire wheels and 6.00-16 wide whitewall tires.

Documented with a Heritage Certificate and accompanied by maintenance records and receipts dating back to the 1970s, this is a fully restored and a great Jaguar that you can drive and enjoy while it appreciates.

Car returns to ebay 9/21

www.ebay.com/itm/124919590554

Classified ad price: $179,900, seller american-dream-machines, car now said to be in Des Moines, Iowa, 0 miles reported.

Seller's description:

VIN: S837972

Rare and desirable black 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drop Head Coupe with lush red leather interior. Colors are correct and validated by the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate along with many build and repair receipts, hand written mileage and service dates, touring and trip documents, manuals and framed original Jaguar Guarantee. The previous long-term owners shipped this beautiful car from US to Europe and back for a touring experience in England for the 50th Anniversary of Jaguar. This Jaguar toured many miles resulting in scratches and paint imperfections from driving enjoyment and age. The car is far too nice to have driver quality paint and was put in the body shop to receive a brand new, professional black paint job over the beautiful XK150 Jaguar body with excellent panel fitment. The car is jeweled in lots of newer show chrome including grill, bumpers, lights and trim accents. The interior is gorgeous with correct red leather seating, clear crisp Smith gauges, a 4-speed on the floor and is topped off with a elegant charcoal grey top. Under the hood is a 3.4L 210HP OHC inline 6 cylinder engine that was rebuilt a few years ago with receipts. This piece of art on four wheels is showcased on like new Jaguar 16 inch wire wheels and brand new wide white wall tires for that elegant look.
