Additional auction description from the above auction:

This XK150 is the desirable drop head coupe model produced in 1958 and finished in Old English white with biscuit interior KSK 318 was originally delivered as a Left hand drive car but during its full rebuild in the early 1990s it was converted to RHD with bills totaling GBP 49,000. The car is described by the vendor to be in very good condition due in part to the car being stored in a climate controlled environment since restoration. The car is ready to provide its lucky new owner with hours of effortless high speed European touring in the coming summer months.

Additional info and result from above auction.

Finished in Old English White with tan leather upholstery, this particular right-hand drive example is variously described by the vendor as being in "very good" (engine, four-speed manual plus overdrive gearbox, electrical equipment) or "excellent" (interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork, wheels / tyres) condition. Beginning life as a left-hand drive 'Special Equipment' Drophead Coupe (or so its chassis number would imply), 'KSK 318' was reportedly treated to a "total nut and bolt restoration in 1990" at a cost of "nearly ú60,000". Thought to have come from an early Series 1 3.8 litre E-type (or so the 'R' prefix to its serial number would indicate), the car's straight-six DOHC powerplant is fed via triple SU carburettors. Said to have covered just 5,600 miles since work was completed (a figure apparently substantiated by various old MOT certificates) and to "drive very well", this 'drophead gorgeous' XK150 is offered for sale with history file (restoration invoices etc), MOT certificate valid until May 2007 and historic class (free) road tax until October 2006.

I have recently liberated XKE chassis 850107 from a garage. The engine number should be R1661-9 which is currently sat in this XK150.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
