This 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe was reportedly refurbished by a previous owner before being purchased by the seller in 2013. The car has since been refurbished again, including a new windshield, seals, chrome, brakes, and suspension, as well as a rebuild of the 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six and the installation of a BorgWarner 5-speed manual transmission. The interior was also refreshed with new tan leather upholstery, door panels, black soft top, and more. Finished in British Racing Green, this XK150 has won a number of awards and is being offered with a spare set of seat bolsters, a new boot cover, a spare tire, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service and refurbishment records from the seller’s ownership, and transferable Connecticut registration.
A refurbishment was reportedly performed prior to the seller’s purchase, and further work carried out in 2015 by Automotive Restorations in Stratford, Connecticut included a new windshield, seals, and chrome. The car was originally finished in Pearl Grey according to the Jaguar Heritage certificate, though it has been repainted in British Racing Green. A new black soft top was installed in 2016.
Dayton wire wheels wear Coker radial wide whitewalls installed approximately 1,500 miles ago per the seller. New suspension components were installed in 2015 along with new disc brakes and brake lines.
A 2-year interior refurbishment was completed in April 2017 by Bassett’s of Wyoming, Rhode Island. Work included a rebuild of the seats, new tan leather upholstery with matching door panels and carpets, a new matching trunk carpet, a new boot cover and wooden roof bows, and a spare set of front seat bolsters. The seller reports that the top has not been lowered since installation.
Interior equipment includes a black 4-spoke steering wheel and Smiths instrumentation. The 5-digit odometer was reset at the time of the engine rebuild and now shows 4k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six was rebuilt in 2015 by Automotive Restorations with a rebuilt carburetors and new pistons, valve springs, timing chains and tensioners, gaskets, bearings, wiring harness, and stainless steel exhaust. Shifting is through a BorgWarner 5-speed manual transmission that was installed at the time of the engine rebuild in place of the factory automatic gearbox. Service in 2018 included an oil change.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the original numbers and colors, a production date of September 30, 1958, and US delivery.
The engine number #V5552-8 can be seen stamped into the block, matching the number listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and the data plate.
The car has won a number of awards, which are included in the sale along with a set of spare seat bolsters, a new boot cover, spare tire, and service and refurbishment records covering the seller’s ownership.
