From A.D. Clausager's book "Jaguar XK140/150 in Detail" this was one of 3 (possibly 4) cars marked in factory records as “Show Car”, the others were S837693BW and S837697BW, with S837700 as the 4th possibility, despite having the same colour combination, it’s not confirmed in factory records as a show car. This colour combination seems to have been the preferred one for show cars in the States around this time.

With its AUTOMATIC GEARBOX intermediate switch, only 234 of these specific models were built by JAGUAR that year, that's less than 1% of all XK120, XK140, XK150s combined.
