    Ebay item 11/5/06
    cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $20,010 reserve not met, 2 bids, 8 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
My father bought this car in 1972 and after restoring it we drove it off and on for the next 8 years, at which point it was put into storage and has been ever since. We have had many Jaguars over the years and did all the restoration ourselves, sometimes well and sometimes not. This car has matching numbers, a very strong engine, and many items in need of care. The car is a restoration project - not a daily driver. Among the needs:

The paintwork is old, peeling in many parts - particularly the right front fender - and must be redone.

All the suspension and steering is in need of repair - the steering rack, rear springs, and many other parts need to be replaced or refurbished

The interior is very appealling visually, and in very nice shape - but it is was not redone in leather, and time has faded the coloring of the carpet

There are many miscellaneous needs - The doors and windows need realignment for better fit; the rear window of the convertible top is opaque and does not zipper; many instruments do not work; hoses and wires are brittle, etc.

I installed 15" chrome wires from an E-Type because I felt they looked better, but the sale includes the original 16" gray painted wires, which need to be refurbished and repainted. The sale also includes as spare parts the original dash, drivers stowage compartment, and glove box - all of which were replaced with spares from another XK150 and recovered.

The tires are new / barely used and in very good shape. The vehicle can be inspected in Chadds Ford PA, very convenient to Philadelphia airport.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
