The above car is on ebay 4/26/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Burgundy-XKE-4-Speed-Leather-Chrome-Spokes-New-Tire ...
Current bid $3,050 reserve not met, 4 bids 6 days left in auction. The car has all the earmarks of a federalized '68 North American delivery except the covered headlights, a '68 federalized car has open headlights. The data plate is not consistent with anything about the '68 car. Car is in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Sellers description:
This is a 1968 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Liter Coupe. The car is finished in a rich Opalescent Maroon paint (high quality paint job) and is offset by a Beige leather interior. Overall the car is in excellent condition.
This 1968 Jaguar 4.2 Liter Coupe is a driver. Over the years the engine has been changed as has the speedometer (and consequently the odometer) and we do not know exactly when that change took place nor the actual miles on the car. We do know that it runs and drives very well and that it will provide its new owner many hours of driving enjoyment; you will get may positive comments from passers by. Although we are not aware of any accidents, the hood or bonnet is possibly from a different year car. There is absolutely no evidence of past damage on the car whatsoever. It is possible that a previous owner preferred the look of this style.
Regardless, if you are interested in owning an e-type Jaguar and you want one that is solid and serviceable as a driver, then this may well be the car for you.
