This 1959 Jaguar XK150 drophead coupe is a non-running project that was completed on June 26, 1958, and is said to have remained in the seller’s family for approximately 40 years. The car is equipped with a 3.4-liter inline-six that reportedly last ran in the 1980s and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top, aftermarket 16″ wire wheels, twin SU carburetors, beige cloth upholstery, and Smiths instrumentation. This XK150 project is now offered with removed parts, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in black and has reportedly had bodywork and rust repair completed on outer panels. Areas of corrosion and rust-through around the body are noted and shown in the gallery below. A black soft top is fitted. Front and rear bumpers with overriders will accompany the car.
Aftermarket 72-spoke wire wheels are mounted with mixed tires. The seller notes that the rear Dunlop disc brake calipers have been removed from the mount and wired inboard, while the front Dunlop calipers have been removed from the vehicle and are included in the sale along with the mounting bolts.
Beige cloth upholstery was installed under previous ownership, and the seller reports that the dash panel and floorboards were refurbished under family ownership. The driver-side center interior door panel, horizontal chrome trim strip, and pocket wood panel are missing. Rust is noted in both door and body A and B pillar jambs. The cabin heat control assembly is missing. An ashtray, chrome window-crank handle, and unlatching-slide handle are included in the sale.
Centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, amperes, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six turns over but has not run since the 1980s, according to the seller. The twin SU carburetors and the fuel pump are said to have been rebuilt at the beginning of the family’s ownership. The seller states that the spark plug wells have been cleaned and the plugs replaced in preparation for the sale. The car comes with two keys, one of which operates the ignition and one that operates the locks.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes an area of rust-through on the frame.
Removed and spare parts are included in the sale.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors, production information, and identification numbers.
Stamping on the engine block is shown above and corresponds to the information displayed on the certificate. The Minnesota title lists the VIN as P6671, which matches the body number listed on the certificate as well as the chassis plate and the removed tag that is included in the sale.
