Ebay item 6/25/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-150-DHC-/290581282578
Opening bid $75,000 reserve not met no bids yet 9 days left in auction. 72k miles.

Sellers description:
Jaguar crystal blue paint with dark blue top and interior. Total body off frame restoration. Matching number engine. Updated with modern 5 speed transmission, (original 4 speed with overdrive goes with the car if you wish).

This car has recently completed a total body off frame restoration with no expense spared. The color is Jaguar crystal blue and the top and interior are dark blue. The car was stored for many years in a dry climate and was essentially rust free and complete.

Work done includes:
Total body and frame repaint. See photo for body condition after stripping.

Complete engine rebuild. This is a matching numbers engine. Rebuild included crank grind, deglaze bores, new pistons and rings, con rod recondition, new bearings and seals, new valves and guides, resurface head, new oil pump, new timing chain, resurface flywheel, new clutch.

Upgraded to Classic Jaguar 5 speed transmission. Driving is vastly improved with this addition. The car was originally an automatic but was converted by the previous owner to a Jaguar 4 speed with electric overdrive. 2nd and 3rd gear synchros are bad on the original box and the pieces needed are unavailable. The overdrive was rebuilt and works. I will include the trans and overdrive with the car if the purchaser wishes.

New stainless steel exhaust system. Exhaust headers re-porcelained.

Complete fuel system rebuild or replacement; tank, pump, lines, filter, carbs etc.

New water pump, rad hoses, cap, thermostat etc. The car runs at normal temperature and has never overheated.

New wiring harness and any needed electrical parts. I installed the J style headlights, the fog lights are factory original. The clock is the only thing that doesn't work.

New Mallory Dual Point distributor, new ignition wires, coil etc. The car is still wired for positive ground as original. I am using a single 12 volt battery in the right wheel well.

All new suspension pieces with Urethane bushings, new shocks, bearings, seals, upper and lower ball joints, new tie rod ends etc.

Rebuilt steering rack

New chrome wire wheels and new tires. New rear hubs. The spare tire is on an original unrestored wheel. See photo.

Complete brake and clutch system rebuild. Rebuilt master cylinders, new slave, new brake booster, new lines and hoses, all calipers sleeved.

New windshield and door glass

The original bumpers and grill were rechromed along with several other pieces.

The interior is completely new with a kit from BAS Jaguar. This includes the dash, front and rear seats (leather), door panels, interior trim and carpets. I added seat belts for all four seats.

The top is also from BAS and fits nicely both inside (lining) and out. All of the original chrome pieces are in place. The boot cover however needs some adjustment to fit and I never bothered with it.

Even for its age this car is very powerful and great to drive on freeways and around town. It has a great sound and solid feel and has been very reliable. I have put 3500 miles on it since completing the restoration. The car has rarely seen rain and is stored in a heated garage for the winter. The car is located in Windsor, Ontario which is just across the river from Detroit, MI. Because of its age the car is exempt from EPA compliance regulations. The car has a clear title.
