Offered at auction by Bonhams in Monaco on May, 10 2008.
Description reads:
his left-hand drive XK150 was originally manufactured as a 3.4-litre model equipped with the Borg Warner automatic transmission, and subsequently has been fitted with the more powerful 3.8-litre XK unit and overdrive gearbox preferred by many enthusiasts. Imported into Sweden from the USA in 1985, the car was treated to a body off, ‘bare metal’ restoration during 1988/89 before being placed on display in a motor dealer’s showroom, where it remained until 1998. The XK was bought by the current owner in 2000 and since then has benefited from considerable ongoing refurbishment. Work carried out has included restoration of the boot interior; overhaul of the rear axle/differential, front suspension and steering; reconditioning of the dashboard instrumentation; and re-stitching of the convertible hood, while a stainless-steel exhaust system, clutch, Koni shock absorbers, fuel pump, stainless wire wheels and a Kenlowe electric cooling fan among the many new parts fitted (full list available). In addition, new tyres were fitted in 2004 and a new battery in 2007. The car is offered with an original owner’s manual, sundry restoration invoices, Swedish registration papers, roadworthiness certificate and FIA Historic Regularity Rally Car Pass (issued November 2003).
Estimate: 55/75 K.EUR (100K USD)

Car now offered at:
www.oldtimerfarm.be/en/collection-cars-for-sale/4362/jaguar-xk150-drop-head-coup ...
Seller's description:
Beautiful and rare full convertible version of the last of the XK's, the 150. Better brakes, wider, more modern than its predecessors the 120 and the 140.
This is the DHC version, Drop Head Coupe: the model where one unfolds the roof and leaves the roof on the back of the car. And this in contrast to the OTS or Open Sports Tourer where the roof (rather difficult) needs to be folded under the body. The result is that the DHC has a lot of space inside, and even two small seats at the back.
Until recently, this car was used a lot for rallies and trips. New spoke wheels, an electric servo steering and many extras where put into the car to facilitate these trips .
Unfortunately, the car has been put aside a bit in recent years and now it needs maintenance and some paintwork to be tip top again. Hence the low price (normally the price is between € 120,000 and € 150,000). A bargain for the connoisseur.
With overdrive.
