Lot #83033

This 1958 Jaguar XK150 SE is a left-hand-drive Drophead coupe that was built on September 9, 1957, and was distributed new through Jaguar Cars of New York in October of that year. It received exterior and interior color changes, an engine rebuild, and transmission replacement during previous ownership according to the seller. The car was purchased by the current owner in 2021, and subsequent work has included another engine rebuild and replacement of the soft top. Power comes from a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes twin SU carburetors, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, black leather upholstery, and a three-band radio. This XK150 is offered on behalf of the current owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service manuals, a tool kit, handwritten service notes, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

This XK150 was originally finished in Cream according to the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and it was repainted in the current shade of white during prior ownership in the 1990s. Features include a black soft top and boot cover, Lucas front fog lamps, black panel welting, and chrome bumpers with guards.

The car is equipped with a four-wheel disc brake system, and 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and mounted with Denman Columbia Deluxe tires.

The interior was trimmed in red from the factory, and it was reupholstered with black leather during prior ownership. The storage bin adjacent to the steering wheel is lined in green felt, and additional features include a Moto-Lita steering wheel, a dash-mounted mirror, and a three-band radio.

Centralized Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as an ammeter and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 4,600 miles and was reset to zero in 1994. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was rated from the factory at 210 horsepower in SE specification. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt by Empower of Burbank, California, in May 2022.

Engine block stamping V1651-8 matches the engine number noted on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and the chassis plate.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of September 9, 1957, and notes the original colors and identification numbers. Manuals, 1960s registration cards, and handwritten notes are also included in the sale.
