GESCHICHTE

As one of 3’094 Jaguar XK150 coupe's with left hand drive, this example, with its 3.8 litre engine and four speed gearbox with overdrive, was delivered to Jaguar cars New York in the USA on the 17th June 1960 and finally handed over to its Texan first owner. In 2007 the lovely coupé was acquired by an enthusiast from New York again and imported to Germany. In the following three years he had the coachwork restored and repainted from the original black to the current dark green. In 2013 the matching-numbers engine was overhauled by a specialist in Bavaria. Unfortunately, there is no documentation for the work performed in Germany. In February 2014, the Jaguar was taken over by a Swiss Jaguar enthusiast and imported. In June of that year a Swiss Jaguar specialist performed additional maintenance work and the car was subsequently used for occasional outings. In February 2020 the XK was finally taken over by the vendor but has since seen only little use. The Jaguar is in good to very good condition and is driving well. The last Veteran MOT was completed in August 2023.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
