Seller's description:
As the proud owner of this exquisite machine, I’d like to share its journey—from a meticulously restored classic to a carefully crafted S Series clone.
A Legacy Restored: The Original Restoration
This particular Jaguar XK150 3.8L Fixed Head Coupe underwent a comprehensive restoration back in 1988. I am fortunate to have acquired it from an estate, complete with all original records documenting the restoration process. The work preserved the car’s integrity and elegance, ensuring it remained a standout example of Jaguar’s iconic craftsmanship.
The car’s pedigree is further cemented by a Jaguar of North America Inc. Concourse Elegance "Best in Class" silver plate award, which underscores its exceptional condition and appeal.
The S Series Transformation
Recently, I decided to elevate this XK150 by converting it into an S Series clone. This was a passion project completed with precision and care. The head used for the conversion is period-correct, though not the original S Series serial number head. I also replaced the right-side inner fender to align with the S Series specifications.
To ensure the quality of this transformation, I entrusted the work to a professional Jaguar specialist in Houston with over 50 years of experience. This expert craftsmanship ensures the vehicle now embodies the essence of an S Series while maintaining the authenticity of its original components.
Preserving the Originality
For purists, rest assured that all original parts—including the head, carburetors, radiator, and steering wheel—have been carefully removed and preserved. These will be included with the car, offering the next owner the flexibility to restore it to its original state if desired.
In addition, the sale includes the original operating maintenance and service handbooks, as well as the Spare Parts Catalogs (Volumes 1 and 2). These invaluable resources add to the car’s provenance, offering a glimpse into its storied past.
Transparency and Future Care
This XK150 is in remarkable condition for its age, but as with any classic car, it has its quirks. The front transmission seal will need attention due to a small leak. I am happy to have this repaired by my trusted Jaguar specialist at cost. Transparency is key, and I am open to discussing every detail of the work performed, both past and present.
A Collector’s Dream
This 1960 Jaguar XK150 is more than just a car—it’s a piece of history, a tribute to Jaguar’s engineering prowess, and an embodiment of classic automotive design. Whether displayed at shows or enjoyed on the open road, this vehicle is ready to write its next chapter with a new owner.
