Car offered at:
kroymansclassic.com/classic-car/10199365/Jaguar+XK
Sellers description:
Type: XK 150 Fixed Head Coupe Year of Manufacture: 1961
Exterior Colour: Black Interior Colour: Black
Mileage: Approx 12.000 km since restoration
• Fully restored by well know Jaguar specialist, with all invoices present • Sensibly modified to high performance specification • Great comfort and space for tall drivers • Eligible and suitable for all major road rallies, such as Tulip rally The Jaguar XK150 FHC we are offering has been restored by Dutch Jaguar specialist Gerhard Fokkens in the late nineties, to the specific wishes of the previous owner, who wanted to build his dream car. A high performance Jaguar, that could be used equally well for comfortable high speed cruising and for participating in historical rallies. And although the Jaguar maintains its all-important original looks and style, those familiar with classic XKs will immediately tell by the aluminium Borrani wire wheels and louvred bonnet that this particular XK150 is special. Open the bonnet and you will find a fully rebuilt and blueprinted XK engine to 4.2 E-Type specification, with a straight port head, three HD8 SU carburettors, lightened flywheel, CSI digital ignition and an aluminium radiator for increased cooling, delivering 265 BHP. This is complimented by a custom built 5 speed gearbox, invisibly mounted in the original Moss housing. A modern, power assisted steering rack with 1.7 turn lock-to-lock and all-round Koni Classic shock absorbers, combined with an upgraded braking system transform the handling of this classic coupe. Importantly, the beautiful classic Jaguar XK interior has been left untouched and the only clues you will find to the extensive performance modifications are a Jaguar E-Type speedometer and Rev counter, which are required because of the increased performance as well as a mechanically operated tripmaster for rally use. On the road this Jaguar XK150 is a revelation, with very agile handling and an abundance of power coming from the tuned straight six. Apart from the beautiful soundtrack of the engine, the Jaguar is surprisingly quiet, smooth and stable at high speeds, and offers great space, even for tall drivers, making for very comfortable journeys. At the same time it is hugely entertaining on twisting country roads, where it feels agile and planted, even on rough and uneven road surfaces. It is truly addictive and you soon discover this is one of very few classic cars that you simply want to drive every day and everywhere.

Model XK150 Fixed Head Coupe
This very well sorted XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was delivered new in 1961 to Special Equipment specification, and fitted with the larger 3.8 litre engine. The XK has enjoyed a detailed restoration by a Dutch Jaguar specialist approximately 15 years ago, and has covered only 12,000 kilometres since. During the restoration and upgrade work the motor was uprated to a 4.2 litre E-Type unit featuring a lightened flywheel and electronic ignition, and now delivers a healthy 265bhp. The motor is cooled with an aluminum radiator and additional bonnet louvres. The transmission has been uprated to a 5-speed unit, and power steering has been added. Ride and handling have been improved with Koni shock absorbers all round, while the braking system has also been uprated. Finally the Jaguar was treated to a rare and desirable set of Borrani wire wheels on each corner.
Supplied with extensive history and invoices for works completed, this is an incredibly competent car for classic rallying or long distance touring holidays.
