    Sellers description:
    Jaguar XK150 "Vicarage Special"

Im November 1959 produziertes Fahrzeug wurde als FHC nach Canada verkauft.
    Laut Papieren Erstzulassung 28.02.1960
    6 Zylinder 3,8 Liter 215PS 960Kg
    Absolutes Männerspielzeug.

    XK150 Vicarage Special
The XK150 Vicarage Special is the only one of his kind, specially build for Mr. Frans Boer by Vicarage- Holland (builders of the famous Vicarage MKII cabriolet, Vicarage XJ13 and Jaguar XJ-S convertibles).
The original XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was built in November 1959 and delivered to Mr. Johnston, Ontario Canada. In 2009 Frans Boer found the XK150 in Ohio USA and brought the car back to Europe, starting this special project.
He wanted an extreme light weight XK150, to outrun the competition in the Sancerre (France)- Nunspeet (Netherlands) wine run of June 2013, organized by Hans Jung of Vennendal Nunspeet (NL). That race was thought to be the perfect test run for this car.
Wim van Ginhoven of Vicarage Holland, had as a boy in the 1950s, a Schuco model toy of a 1936 single seater- racer, which silhouette always remained in his head, and was now chosen to build this as a two-seater in aluminum with removable wings. Wings were needed for a road registration in Holland, so removable was the compromise we needed. The model was designed with this Schuco toy in mind by Wim van Ginhoven and Frans Boer. The joy of this creative process is seen back in the final result.
The lights were improved with halogen headlights. The grill is the original Jaguar XK150 grill being a nod to the original XK150. Although all mechanics and basic construction comes from the original XK150, you can't see that from the outside. So the original grill and emblem to show that it is a real XK150, but then tuned and as fast as lightening. So be warned driving it!!
Battery charging improved by fitting a 12 Volt alternator with build in voltage regulator.
Starting improved by fitting a high torque starter motor.
Driving range improved by enlarging aluminum XK150 petrol tank by eliminating spare wheel recess and with central filling on top.
The original XK150 chassis was sandblasted, powder coated and completely rebuild with the restored original XK150 Jaguar parts, or renewed when impossible to restore. The engine was rebuild by V.S.E. sports in England. Specifications were discussed in front for reaching the optimum power situation for this XK150 Vicarage Special. It is a 3.8 liter Jaguar engine.
The transmission was changed for a Jaguar full-synchronic 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive on top gear.
The overall transmission ratio was changed by fitting handmade 19 inch wire wheels, and road holding improved by fitting new Blockly 19 inch racing tires with the correct vintage look.
More horsepower was achieved by the handmade big-bore straight through exhaust system.
The point of gravity was lowered by lowering the front and rear suspension and combined with torque reaction bars on the rear axle, giving excellent driving results.
The bucket seats gave better support when cornering.
The total weight ended at 960 kg (which is extremely low for a road registered Jaguar XK150), this is just 60 kg more than a racing Jaguar D-type of the same period.
The maximum speed due to the light weight and overall transmission ratio due to the big wheels, is as fast as you dare (theoretically 270 km per hour).
On the race track it looks and handles even better without the removable wings, also due to lower weight at the wheels.

Theoretically 270kph ? I will eat my hat (I have several) if it can reach 200kph.

Weight has no effect upon a car's maximum velocity, which is governed by shape, frontal area and power.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
