Car to be at auction 10/17
www.coys.co.uk/cars/1959-jaguar-xk150-se-fixed-head-coupe

Auction description:
Lot Number 109
Reg. Number EU Registered
Chassis Number S836059
Year 1959
Make Jaguar
Model XK150 SE

This beautiful XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was delivered new in 1959 to Special Equipment specification. By the 1960's the XK had found its way to Denmark and into the custodianship of a wealthy landowner from the Danish region of Zealand, who owned the XK for a number of years until ownership passed due to the sale of the estate in the mid 1990's. The next owner, a Jaguar enthusiast, commenced extensive restoration, which was completed in 2015 by specialists under the watchful eye of the current vendor. The XK benefits from a fully rebuilt engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox (a useful upgrade), and is fitted with a very nice set of 15" chrome wire wheels on each corner.

Supplied with extensive history for works completed, and finished in a very stylish combination of Royal Blue with a re-trimmed Biscuit leather interior, this is an incredibly competent and enjoyable 1950's GT which has been finished to a high standard.

This SE-specification XK 150 has spent the majority of its life in Denmark, the country from where it is offered today. According to the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, it was completed by the factory in on February 5 of 1959, fitted with a manual gearbox and finished in Carmen Red over a black interior.

Originally built for the U.S. market and delivered to Jaguar Cars New York, it did not remain in the U.S. for long and was first registered in Denmark in the 1960’s. There, the car was owned by an individual residing in Zealand who retained the car for a number of years before being sold in the mid-1990’s. Passing into the heads of another Danish Jaguar enthusiast, he entrusted the car to a Danish Jaguar specialist to be fully restored, which was completed in 2015. At least €25,000 was spent on this work. The XK 150 benefits from a rebuilt engine boasting a five-speed manual transmission and is fitted with chrome wire wheels.

Finished in dark blue paintwork over a beige leather interior, this is an attractive XK 150 would surely make a wonderful driver, thanks to its upgraded transmission.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
