Wonderfully straight XK150 coupe. This car spent more than 50 years with one family! Unlike so many old Jaguars this car never fell into disrepair. Even in the years when it did not see many miles it's devoted owner changed the fluids and kept an eye on its mechanicals. It has a thoroughly documented history going back for decades. This is in the form of a log book where everything done to the car or with the car is noted. There are also numerous receipts. There is no sign of previous accidents or rust repair.
She runs and drives well but there is still room for improvement. She always starts right up even if she has not been driven in weeks. She has good oil pressure, she does not smoke or rattle and she always keeps her cool. She has her original 3 1/2 litre engine block topped off by an XK140 head. This is all backed up by a four-speed non-overdrive gearbox. A few years ago she received an upgrade to four piston calipers on the front.
The body is straight and sound and all the panels fit well. The paint is about 30 years old and is no more than a driver quality paint job. There is no overspray or nasty things like that, but it's just not an expensive paint job. The interior was redone in the 1990s, and the leather is still in excellent condition for its age as is the carpet and headliner.
She drives well with precise rack and pinion steering and power assisted disc brakes. The transmission shifts well for an old Moss gearbox. Since this car was used regularly the lights, gauges, turn signals, etc... function as designed.
She is ready to drive as is or would make an excellent recipient for a set of chrome wire wheels with radial tires and a 5-speed gearbox.
