This 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixed-Head Coupe was originally purchased in Los Angeles, California. Finished in its original cream with a re-upholstered red leather interior, this left-hand drive coupe and has been driven in multiple Northwest Classic Motor Rallies and has won best in class trophies at Jaguar Club of North America Concours events and the Forest Grove Concours d' Elegance. It underwent a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment 10k miles ago before being acquired by the seller 16 years ago. Power comes from a rebuilt numbers-matching 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox with electric overdrive. Now showing just under 89k miles, this XK150 is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, its original brochure, owner's manual, and tool kit, and a clean Oregon title in the seller's name.
The exterior is finished in original cream and the condition of the paint can be seen in detail in the photo gallery below. According to the seller the inside of the hood has been repainted. During the refurbishment that took place starting in the 1990s, the front and rear bumpers as well as portions of the brightwork were re-chromed and can also be seen close-up in the gallery. A new-old-stock windshield was also installed at that time, and the door hinges were rebuilt and bushings re-sleeved. The front fascia features original Moss driving lights.
New chrome wheels with stainless steel spokes were added 10k miles ago, and new wheel hubs and splines were installed as well. The front and rear suspension was rebuilt, and brake repairs and upgrades included re-sleeving the calipers with stainless steel, installing stainless steel brake lines and new rotors, and rebuilding the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and power booster.
The interior and boot were refreshed with new red leather upholstery, retaining its factory trim color, as well as new leather door panels and new wool carpeting. A period Moto-Lita wood and aluminum steering wheel is fitted to the car, and the original steering wheel is also included in the sale.
The odometer shows just under 89k miles, 3,900 of which have been added by the seller. The gauges were rebuilt and calibrated as part of the refurbishment 10k miles ago.
The original 3.4-liter DOHC XK inline-six was rebuilt in the 1990s and is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive as indicated by the DN suffix in the chassis number. The engine was originally rated at 190 horsepower. Other work completed during the mechanical overhaul included rebuilding the carburetors, modernizing the fuel pump, upgrading the oil filter to a modern spin-off unit, re-coring and upgrading the radiator and heater core, and replacing electrical connections and rubber seals throughout the car.
A receipt for the engine work, along with other receipts from the refurbishment, and includes new rod and main bearings, piston rings, valve guides, and valves. According to the seller, service, repair, and refurbishment receipts from 1982 to present are included with the sale.
The engine number #V2161-8 can be seen stamped into the block above, matching the number listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and the data plate.
Included with the car are the original sales brochure, owner's manual, complete tool kit, and steering wheel. Also included and pictured in the gallery below are several trophies and awards won by the car.
