    Ebay item 8/3/18
    www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1958-Jaguar-XK150-Open-Two-Seater/192613268055
Opening bid £45,000, no reserve, no bids 3 days left in auction, seller hilltop6955, 11k miles.

    Seller's description:
1958 Jaguar XK150 Open Two Seater 3.4 with overdrive. This is fresh from a local barn with just 11,000 original miles. It was last on the road in 1964!!! We have the last registration on inspection from 1964 before it was parked. Potentially one family owned (we are waiting to hear back from heritage.) The car was originally a maroon over black interior the previous owner had it painted to a British racing green in 1963. The car is well optioned with wire wheels and rare overdrive. Obviously will need full restoration or would make a great museum piece. The car rolls steers and goes into gear for easy transport.

Recently purchased car from Hilltop autos in Hanover , currently being shipped over from New Jersey. The plan is to fully restore the car and convert to RHD. Will keep you posted and add photos as appropriate if any one is interested.

Have started the strip down before it heads off to the professionals ! Going well and now nearing the limit of what I can do.

    Restoration now in full progress

Joss and Matt at Creed Shore Autos in Whitchurch have completed the full body off strip down. Body now with Adam and Clive ( DT Classics ) in Atherstone to rebuld a very poorly body. New parts supplied by Leaping Cats in Leicestershire but most will be down to the skill of Adam and Clive.

Joss has now diassembled engine and confirms genuine 11k mileage, good news, wish the body was so well preserved !

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
