Car offered at:

Sellers description:
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirms that this Jaguar XK150 3.4 litre was manufactured on 21 July 1958 and dispatched a few days later to Jaguar Cars in New York. Painted Carmen red from new with a black interior, it had a manual gearbox with overdrive. The chassis number is S 831024DN with matching engine block/head number V 4829-8.

The ownership chain has always been with California owners so far as we know, having been first owned by someone in Redondo Beach, then in Venice, then Morgan Hill and eventually to a Hillsborough owner Mrs. Sally Foster in 1983 who laid her up for a period of years. The current owner, also from Hillsborough, acquired her in December 2001. Titled as a 1959 car, during the current ownership the 3.4 was rebuilt and restored over a two year period by Mr. Raffi Najjarian of the Pit Stop in Brisbane, California, well respected for engine work on many cars in the San Francisco area. The gearbox has been subtly changed to a five speed unit although utilizing the original gearlever and the brakes have been upgraded to larger front discs. Another change has been the fitting of an alternator instead of the generator. Clearly the fabulous Carmen red paintwork is blemish free and the black leather interior also extremely presentable with the addition of a Nardi wood steering wheel. The engine detailing is excellent and the car has a newer set of chromed wire wheels fitted and has California black with yellow plates. Many photos of the restoration were taking and these will come with the sale. Recently shown at the Hillsborough and Palo Alto Concours events, the owner has driven about 1,000 miles per year since the restoration was completed, including trips to Monterey and the Sierras. A very smart looking matching numbers Jaguar roadster, complete with full tool kit.

At auction by Chevau-Leger Encheres www.chausselat.com
on 2011, Sept. 25 in Versailles, France.

Catalog description reads:
Sold new in California in July 1958, this Jaguar was given to a young lady by his father as a graduation present. The current carmine red finish is priginal and the inte interior is in black leather.
After some years, the young owner gave up gradually the Jaguar in favor of a more practical car but the XK was kept in the home garage until 2000 when it was sold.
