1959 XK150 roadster. An amazing untouched original in excellent tour or show condition. This is an especially well preserved Oregon car with only four owners since new. Well sorted for touring or show. One repaint in the 1980s that still looks great. Largely original interior is in fine shape and appears consistent with low miles and careful ownership. Very nice origianl chrome with both bumpers having been replated at some time. The numbers match and a Heritage Certificate is included. It appears to have less than 60,000 original miles and has been collector owned since 1978.
Recent service includes: complete brake system overhaul, carbs rebuilt, fuel tank cleaned and resealed, and new wheels and knock-offs.
This car was sold new at British Motor Car Co. in Portland, Oregon to sports car enthusiast Richard Carpenter. From day one it has always recieved the best of care. A few years ago I had the good fortune to meet Mr. Carpenter at his home in the Portland West hills. He spoke fondly of how the Jaguar had served him well as his "special car" until he sold it to a local professor in 1978. Never taken apart this is a solid, rust free Jaguar brimming with original patina. If you enjoy driving your vintage cars, tend to value originality and find concourse perfection boring - here is certainly a rare opportunity.
Price: $159,000

This 1958 Jaguar XK150 roadster was built on May 5, 1958 and dispatched to New York the following month. The car is said to have been registered in Oregon for much of its life and was acquired by the seller in 2023. It is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in Cream over black leather. Equipment includes a removable black soft top, 16″ knock-off wire wheels, disc brakes, and adjustable seats. This XK150 is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name, listing it as a 1959 model year.
The car came finished from the factory in Cream and was repainted some time ago. Features include a removable black soft top, a one-piece windshield, bright trim, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes that the windshield gasket is aged and there are wiper blade marks on the windshield.
The 16″ knock-off wire wheels were mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in 2017. A full-size spare is stored under the trunk floor, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The brake system was overhauled in 2012.
The adjustable seats are trimmed in black leather and are complemented by a leather-wrapped dashboard. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a defroster, wind-up side windows, door storage pockets, and a folding rear bulkhead. The seat backs have been reupholstered and the carpets have been replaced.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an embedded clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and an ammeter alongside gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The horn is inoperative.
The 3,442cc inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 210 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque. An electronic fuel pump was installed in 2020 and the radiator was re-cored in 2023. Oil leaks are noted.
Engine block stamping V3930-8 is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the cylinder head, chassis plate, and Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. There is corrosion under the battery tray.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers.
The car is titled using engine number V39308, chassis number S830405DN.
