Car to be at auction 6/12
www.bonhams.com/auctions/20143/lot/216/

Auction description:
29 Jun 2012 2:15 p.m. Chichester, Goodwood
Collectors' Motor Cars
Auction 20143
216
1960 Jaguar XK150SE 3.4-Litre Drophead Coupé
Registration no. 786 JAG
Chassis no. S827639BW
Engine no. V7610-8
Estimate:
£80,000 - 100,000
€100,000 - 130,000
US$ 120,000 - 160,000
A sought after 'Special Equipment' model fitted with the automatic gearbox, this XK150SE drophead coupé was manufactured in September 1960 and is one of the last XKs built. The car was in running condition when purchased by the current owner in 1995 and during 1996 was subjected to a full 'last nut and bolt' rebuild with no expense spared. Many of the original parts and components were retained or restored and the car still has all its original panels together with the radio, the only upgrades being a stainless steel exhaust system, manual choke and electronic ignition. The fact that this car has won over 40 competitions nationally, including 'Best XK' in Jaguar circles, is proof of the quality and the standard of workmanship. As can be seen in the photographs, it is equally as good underneath as on top.
Finished in Old English White with red leather interior, this exceptional XK150SE is described by the private vendor as in 'A1' condition and offered with sundry restoration invoices, current MoT/tax, Swansea V5 document and a comprehensive history file, which includes the old-style buff logbook detailing previous owners. A complete tool kit, owner's handbook and a workshop manual are included in the sale.

Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar XK150 SE Drophead Coupe Auto.
Price: £135,000
Registration number 786JAG.

A very much sought after 'Special Equipment' model fitted with the automatic gearbox, this XK150SE drophead coupé was manufactured in September 1960 and is one of the last XKs built.

If you want the best.....Simply put here it is; recipient of over 40 concours wins including 'Best XK' in Jaguar circles, is proof of the quality and the standard of workmanship. As can be seen in the photographs, it is equally as good underneath as on top. Nut & Bolt restoration is a hackneyed expression, but in this instance it is absolutely correct. Every single nut & bolt is brand new.

Finished in Old English White with red leather interior, this exceptional XK150SE is in absolutely better then new condition throughout and offered with sundry restoration photographs and invoices, old MOTs dating back to 1973, with a current MoT/tax, Swansea V5 document and a comprehensive history file, which includes the old-style green logbook detailing previous owners. A complete tool kit, owner's handbook and a workshop manual are included.

Nothing more need be said.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
