Auction description:
Sale 18215 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 11 Sep 2010
Beaulieu Autojumble, National Motor Museum
Lot No: 515A
1959 Jaguar XK150 3.8-Litre Drophead Coupé
Registration no. 8282 PO
Chassis no. S827478DN
Engine no. VA1214-8
Sold for £18,400 inclusive of Buyer's Premium
Manufactured as a 3.4-litre model, this XK150 drophead coupé has been fitted subsequently with a 3.8-litre engine, manual/overdrive gearbox and wire wheels. It is understood that the car had been partially restored before being placed in storage for a number of years in Cornwall, where it was rediscovered by a collector. The latter had no time to complete the restoration so sold the car on to the current vendor in September 2008. The owner has since found a matching-numbers XK140, so is selling the XK150 to fund its restoration. We are advised that the chassis appears sound, that new rear wings have been fitted, and that the engine and gearbox seem serviceable. Offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed, '8282 PO' comes with JDHT certificate and Swansea V5.

Some earlier history of the car is mentioned in the Nov. 2011 edition of the XK Gazette.

My father Patrick bought 8282 PO second hand in the mid sixties and owned it for around 3 years, in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
He is now 88 and would be very interested to know where it is now!
